Book Early or Book Late

You may be best booking your holiday in advance, say a year or more before the date you go, to take advantage of the lower rates before increases are made.

Or you can book it last minute and get a great last minute bargain deal. The problem with booking it early is you never know what might happen in your personal life and circumstances can change. The thing about booking it late is that you might need to be more open about where you visit as only certain places may still be available.

Surf for a Deal

There are lots of online facilities offering cheap holidays for you and it’s always advisable to do as much shopping around to get the best deals. It may even mean booking your flight through one operator and your hotel through another but by shopping around online and really looking at your options you can save heaps of cash.

Haggle

Don’t take prices advertised at face value you can always ring and email and try to see if you can get a better deal.

Fly Midweek

Lots of people like to fly on weekend to get a whole week off but by flying mid week you can cut loads of money off the overall price.

Visit Local Restaurants

Avoid tourist prices. Eating local can save you money and allow you to experience local culture while you are there!

Get Organised

Try and curb your holiday spends by taking limited money and booking excursions and trips in advance.

Take a Packed Lunch

This can save you loads of money but preparing your own food for journeys. This stops all those comfort breaks where prices are majorly inflated.

Be Flexible

If you are able to be flexible on the day and time you can travel then you should be able to get a better deal. When you look up holidays, flights and hotels you’ll see a big difference between different dates etc. By being able to move your holiday by a few days you can often save big bucks.

Holiday Comparison Websites

There are lots of holiday comparison websites which you should definitely check out. These websites allow you to put in the details of the holiday, flight or hotel you are interested in and compare between holiday companies. This allows you to make sure you get the best value for money and pay as little for your holiday as possible.

Family Deals

Look for family deals where children eat or travel for free. This can often take the pressure off and bring down the cost of a family break to a much more affordable price.
